Live and in color...well, kinda!

So here is the much anticipated ultrasound video from our 20 week appointment! I swear, watching this is more entertaining than any TV program that I've ever seen! If I had one of these at home, I'd be glued to the screen!

Now don't get your hopes up - we cut the video off when the tech is going to look at the bladder and pelvic region! oh and p.s. when you watch the beginning of the video you'll see "It's a Boy" flash on the right side of the screen -- the tech was only scrolling through messages to put on the profile picture which you'll see right after. This part of the ultrasound was done before she scanned the pelvic area, so don't jump to any conclusions!

This second video the doctor did - he gets a great profile shot and you can see the baby either A. sucking his/her thumb or B. picking it's nose! We'll let you be the judge!

Due to my small size, the doctor wants me to come back in 6-8 weeks to measure the baby's growth again...which means we get another ultrasound!! I can't wait!

It's official ... there's a growing baby in my belly!!! And yes, Mom, there's only ONE in there!

The ultrasound was great - got to see some great shots of the heart and all of the other major organs! We turned away and turned the camera off when the tech scanned the bladder area - so no looking to us for any signs or hints - we aren't in the loop either! In fact, on the top of the paperwork someone wrote in capital letters "DO NOT TELL"!!! So, we'll all be surprised in November!

Kick, Stretch, annnndddddd Kick

Right now I could swear that Sally O'Malley is living inside my belly! (If you haven't heard of Sally O'Malley, she's a SNL character...google her...it's worth the time!) My baby is saying in a very proud voice, "I'm a little Bealer - I'm 19 weeks old - and I can Kick, Stretch, annnnnddddd Kick. I'm 19 weeks old!"

Yes, I'm 19 weeks now and I can definitely tell the difference between gas and the baby moving! I've been feeling the little one move around for the past two weeks or so. It was confusing at first, but now there's no mistaking!! Last night, for example, I was sitting on the sofa minding my own business and all of a sudden I got two quick kicks...then about 5 minutes later it happened again! It sort of took my breath away and was the most amazing feeling in the entire world! Of course, I tried to get "Sally O'Malley" to kick, stretch, annnnddddd kick again so that Jeff could feel the aerobic workout in my belly, but there was no cooperation from the baby (I hope this isn't a sign of disobedience already!). I'm sure in due time he will experience the antics of the little one too!

My belly is also growing along with the baby! I am so glad to be out of the fat girl phase of pregnancy and getting excited that maternity clothes is fitting more than in the last few weeks! Petite sizes are still hard to find without breaking the bank, but I'm trying to be creative and make due! Thank God that my mom knows how to sew and she can alter some of the dresses and tops!

I'm counting down to next Tuesday when we go for the ultrasound...I'll be half way then! I can't wait to see the baby even though we won't find out the sex of the baby! I'll post a pic when we get it! Pregnancy has still been going very well - still have the headaches, but I'm very grateful and lucky if that's the only thing I have to complain about, right!? I have really been enjoying my prenatal yoga class and the acupuncture sessions...the baby LOVED acupuncture last week...it was practicing the stretch phase of the "kick, stretch annnndddd kick" routine! that was really the first time I felt the baby from the outside!

Oh and I finally bought a pool...albeit a kiddie rainbow pool, but you know what - it holds cool water and I'm so small that i can practically stretch out in it! I might even get one of those mini rafts! Our hot tub that I forbid Jeffrey to adjust just got a little too warm even on the lowest setting - so the rainbow pool was just the ticket! I haven't tried it out yet as I still need to finish blowing it up - but I'm sure it will be pure bliss! With these summer rains every day I'll have to take quick little dips at a time, I'm sure -- but I'm all about it!

So that's about all for now -- more updates to follow next week after the ultrasound on Tuesday!
